Blackberries, lantana and undergrowth can swiftly take over your garden if nothing is done about them. In actual fact, these plants can gradually colonise your garden by spreading their roots underground, and their branches can grow as much as 4 metres! As well as damaging your garden's aesthetic appeal, blackberries in particular can also damage surrounding cultivated areas, and scratch and injure children and pets who just love exploring every corner of the garden! If you want to eliminate an area of blackberries, make sure you protect yourself properly with gardening gloves, thick clothing and glasses. The most efficient way to clear the area is using a hedge trimmer, whipper-snipper or secateurs. Next, once you have cleared the area, wait for new shoots to develop before treating them with Roundup PowerMax Concentrate or Roundup Advance Concentrate (diluted as per label instructions for tough and woody weeds). Either, when applied as directed, will destroy blackberries right down to their roots, and you can replant the area after one week.
