Concrete or sealed driveways
Weeds tend to invade and take hold wherever there is a free spot! They grow in every crack, taking root and growing, and it is usually almost impossible to get rid of them properly.
Gravel driveways
Weeds that invade gravel driveways create ugly patches. There are techniques to limit weed growth before a gravel driveway is laid: you can install weed mat or a 10cm deep layer of compacted roadbase to prevent vital elements such as light or moisture from reaching the soil underneath. Unfortunately, using this technique requires additional work before the driveway is laid. If the driveway is already in place, it is important to weed it regularly, in particular, at the start of the season when weed growth is minimal.
