Chemical Paspalum Killer

Paspalum is a tall weed grass which can grow up to 2m in height and can make an unsightly addition to a lawn. Although there are dedicated paspalum killers on the market; these can work out quite expensive as large volumes of concentrate are needed to effectively eradicate the weed and can be harmful to certain types of lawn grass. Alternatively, a glyphosate based general weed killer, such as Roundup, can be applied. However this should be used selectively using a small brush to dab the product onto the paspalum leaves in order to protect the surrounding lawn.

Manual Paspalum Control

One of the most effective forms of paspalum control is in fact manual labor; despite being hard work and requiring more than one person for the job, this way ensures your lawn is protected from chemicals which could otherwise harm it. Yet there is a drawback to this more organic solution; the removal of the weed will leave a small hole in the lawn, due to the paspalum’s fairly deep roots. Although, once filled in with topsoil, a healthy lawn should be able to grow over these patches, leaving it in its original condition.

We have carefully calculated the best rates at which to apply for each type of weed problem. Applying at a strong rate is not recommended and will not result in better performance. Please ensure that you read the label before use and use pesticides safely.

Q

Does the Concentrate need using up straight away after mixing?

A Click here for the answer

It’s always good practice to only mix up what you need for that treatment, but you can retain the unused solution for up to a week, since a gradual loss of activity will occur. Make sure that you store any weedkiller safely away from the reach of children and pets.
