Weed tips

  • Warm soil and summer rain promote rapid weed growth. Weeds compete for valuable moisture and nutrients so keep on top of them to prevent them from getting out-of-control. Use Roundup Ready-to-Use or mix your own from Roundup Concentrate to eradicate them.

Garden maintenance in January

  • Recycle your Christmas tree by shredding it for mulch
  • Protect plants from hot winds and sun exposure to minimise drying out and leaf burn
  • Replenish mulch to maintain a depth of 8 to 10cm
  • Water first thing in the morning, before the sun hits plants, and keep water off leaves
  • Watch for dry spots (under eaves and overhanging trees, shrubs) and water as required
  • Lift spring flowering bulbs when foliage has completely died down. Leave to dry for a few days before brushing off soil and storing in a cool dry place for planting again in autumn

FAQs

Q

What are the origins of Roundup?

A Click here for the answer

Roundup was first developed for the agricultural industry to help farmers overcome large-scale problems with weeds. This same science and technology has been applied to create a range of weed killing products ideal for domestic use. So, rest easy in the knowledge that you’re using the weed killer the professionals use.

Q

Can I put it on stronger? Will that work better?

A Click here for the answer

We have carefully calculated the best rates at which to apply for each type of weed problem. Applying at a strong rate is not recommended and will not result in better performance. Please ensure that you read the label before use and use pesticides safely.

Q

Does the Concentrate need using up straight away after mixing?

A Click here for the answer

It’s always good practice to only mix up what you need for that treatment, but you can retain the unused solution for up to a week, since a gradual loss of activity will occur. Make sure that you store any weedkiller safely away from the reach of children and pets.
